The Beginning
The beginnings of Criminal AF began in the basement...literally. In the fall of 2018, Dave Jarry came up with the idea to start a podcast, but not the ones you hear today. With his sons getting older, one working full time and the other off to college, Dave was thinking of ways to keep the bond he had with his sons. Since they all loved listening to sports podcasts, particularly anything to do with the Philadelphia Eagles, Dave decided to purchase some audio equipment and begin an Eagles podcast with his sons. This idea didn’t quite take off as they had all hoped as their hectic lifestyles and scheduling made it too difficult. With new equipment in hand, Dave decided to try other passions of his, psychology and true crime. In a makeshift studio in his basement, Dave wrote, produced and narrated his first solo episode, Ed Kemper - Co-Ed Killer on February 1st, 2019. Originally titled From Within, Dave rebranded the podcast a few months later to what was known as The Serialholic. He enjoyed incorporating family and friends in his podcasts, so all of the voice overs you hear from the earlier episodes are not actors, they are every day people. About 20 episodes in, the pandemic hit in 2020. With stresses from work and personal life, The Serialholic podcast unfortunately had to take a backseat.
"From The Ashes, A Phoenix is Born"
In the fall of 2021, with life now returning back to “normal”, Dave approached his good friend, Garrett Courter, about the possibility of joining forces to create a more interactive version of The Serialholic. In March of 2022, Criminal AF came to life, merging interactive, unfiltered conversation and story narration. With Dave’s experience in podcasting and Garrett’s knowledge of streaming and creating viewable content, they are able to expand into more platforms and sharing Criminal AF to a broader audience.

Dave is the writer, narrator, producer and host of "Criminal AF" and "Criminal AF Direct". He resides in Connecticut, USA and has two sons.

Garrett is the co-host of Criminal AF who also records audio and visual content for the pod as well. He resides in Connecticut, USA with his wife, Kelly and their two children.
